Larry Mohr is managing director and co-founder of Retro Venture Partners. Prior to launching Retro, Larry founded Mohr, Davidow Ventures in 1983. Previously, he worked in the venture groups of both Hambrecht & Quist, where he was a partner, and at Bank of America. Larry received a BS in engineering from Cornell University and a MBA and MS from Stanford University. He taught venture capital at the Stanford Graduate School of Business for three years and is currently president of the Stanford Athletic Department’s investment fund. He has been on the boards of numerous public and private company boards, including the PaloAlto Medical Foundation. Sal Gutierrez is managing director and co-founder of Retro Venture Partners. Previously, he founded Westech Investment Advisors, Inc., which invests in high technology industries. Sal was manager of all WTI Funds. There, he helped pioneer the concept of venture lending, a small industry which augments venture capitalist’s equity investments with short-term debt. WTI is now the largest venture lending company in the country. Earlier, Sal worked in commercial lending, including 10 years at Wells Fargo Bank, where he started the IRA department and managed all of Latin America for Wells Fargo Leasing. Sal has a BA from St. Mary’s College, and MBA from Golden Gate University, and has successfully completed the Graduate School of Credit and Managerial Finance at Stanford University. He is a trustee of Santa Clara University and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, and has served several Bay Area charitable organizations, including founding the San Mateo County Food Bank. Sal was born in Mexico City. |
